Son Arrested Over Alledged Killing of 80- Year – Old Father

The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old man, Sada Tambai, over the alleged killing of his 80-year-old father, Adamu Tambai, in Bindawa Local Government Area of the state.

The incident occurred in Mundadu Village, where the deceased, a former Ward Head of the community, was reportedly found lying motionless in front of his residence.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, said in a statement on Saturday that the incident was reported to the Bindawa Divisional Police Headquarters on September 21, 2026, at about 12 noon.

According to him, the report was made by the District Head of Bindawa, Dan Yusufan Katsina, after the elderly man was found in front of his residence.

“Upon receipt of the report, detectives were swiftly dispatched to the scene. The victim was evacuated and rushed to the nearest hospital for immediate medical attention, where he was unfortunately confirmed dead by the attending medical doctor,” the statement said.

The police said preliminary investigations led to the arrest of the deceased’s son, Sada Tambai, 27.

During interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed to hitting his father on the head with a stick, resulting in the injuries that led to his death.

The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Ali Umar Fage, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet and thorough investigation.

The police said the suspect would be arraigned in court upon completion of the investigation.

The Command also expressed condolences to the bereaved family and assured the public of its commitment to ensuring that justice is served.
