An Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City has sentenced four persons to death by hanging for offences bordering on kidnapping, cultism and other violent crimes.
The court, which is dedicated to the trial of kidnapping, cultism and other related offences, handed down the sentences on Tuesday after over three hours of judgment.
The presiding judge, Justice T. A. Momodu, delivered judgment on the 11-count charge preferred against the convicts.
Those sentenced to death are Marvelous Isaac, 32; Wisdom Michael, 36; Rufus Michael, 30; and Gift Raphael, 27.
The court found the four convicts guilty of the offences contained in the charges and consequently sentenced them to death by hanging.
