‘I’m Proud Of You’ – Otedola Writes After Dinner With Tinubu In Paris

Billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, has expressed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing his economic reforms as “bold and forward-thinking.”

Otedola stated this on Tuesday after a private dinner with Tinubu in Paris, France, on Monday night.

In a post on Instagram accompanied by a photograph of himself with the president, the businessman said Tinubu’s reforms had placed the Nigerian economy “firmly on a path of sustainable growth.”

He said the results were becoming increasingly evident, citing the inclusion of top Nigerian companies in the FTSE Russell Frontier 50 Index, gains recorded by the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), increased foreign direct investment and renewed economic confidence.

He also listed a more unified foreign exchange market and foreign reserves of about $55 billion among the developments he attributed to the administration’s economic reforms.

Otedola wrote, “The results are increasingly evident top Nigerian companies now included on the FTSE Russell Frontier 50 Index, the NGX at historic highs, increased foreign direct investment and renewed economic confidence, a unified and more stable foreign exchange market, foreign reserves standing strong at about $55 billion, and so much more.”

“I remain proud of you, Mr. President!” he added.

Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria on Tuesday following a four-week leave that began on August 30, when he departed Abuja for London.

After spending about a week in London, the president travelled to Paris, where he held meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron and businessman Vincent Bolloré, whose business interests include Canal+, MultiChoice and Universal Music Group.

According to his aides, Tinubu is expected to arrive in Lagos on Tuesday, ahead of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary on October 1.

He is expected to return to Abuja at the weekend.
