NDC, Ikpeazu Seek Deltans’ Support For Party Candidates

The Delta North Nigeria Democratic Congress, (NDC) Elders, Leaders and Stakeholders Council has appealed to Deltans to consider and support the party.

The Council made the appeal in Kwale, Ndokwa West local government area on Wednesday, with the determination to take its sensitization campaign to the nine local government areas of Delta north senatorial district.

The Council Chairman, Chief Alex Ikpeazu, in his opening remark during the Delta North NDC meeting said the stakeholders have decided to expand its membership and strengthen its efforts in supporting the party and all its candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

While appreciating everyone for their presence, valuable contributions, and commitment to the collective progress of the people and the party, he explained that the council was established to support NDC candidates at all levels and provide clearer understanding of their objectives and expected benefits to the masses.

Ikpeazu said the meeting was organised to demonstrate the participants’ support for  Peter Obi, Dacon Chris Iyovware and all the other candidates to prepare them to participate actively in the political process towards the 2027 elections.

According to him,  engaging traditional institutions, community leaders, professional bodies, youths, women and other stakeholders was to ensure that citizens understood the rationale behind the formation of NDC and their positive implications for the state and country.

The secretary of the Council, High Chief Sony Neme, stated that the meeting was more than mobilisation, as it will create an opportunity for the stakeholders to interact, network and discuss issues affecting the country.

Chief Neme said the participants were gathered as patriotic Nigerians meant to play a more active role in determining the political direction of Delta State the country, and express their confidence in the leadership of Obi, lyovware, Victor Ochei and other candidates.

One of the participant, Chief Steven Ikpade, said their mobilisation would continue ahead of the 2027 general elections just as the host, Chief Emma Ogbe reiterated the Council’s commitment to the success of NDC at all levels, revealing that the Diaspora EXCO will be inaugurated in the next meeting.

According to Ikpade, the large turnout demonstrated the willingness of stakeholders  in Delta north to participate in activities that promote community interaction and national development.

Others visibly present at the occasion were Prof Godwin Isitor, Hon Obi Okoh, Pastor Stanley Ofulue, Comrade Tony Osu, Engr Emeka Okonkwor; leaders from Delta Central and Delta South including Chief Malachi Orode, Bishop Michael Oruefe Engr. Emmanuel Nwachukwu Leonard (Bawo); Ika North-East Constituency I Candidate, Sylvester Chukwuedo; Dr Lovely Ebonka, Ambassador Dr Ajabor, Chief Emmanuel Adigwe; Delta State NDC Deputy Chairman, Dr Anantram; Mrs. Mercy Ajieh; also spoke in the same vein.
