Actor Olivier Martinez has been granted a temporary restraining order involving his former partner, actress Halle Berry, following allegations concerning their 12-year-old son, Maceo.
A Los Angeles County judge granted Martinez’s request on Thursday, October 1, according to court records. The order covers both Martinez and Maceo and temporarily changes Berry’s visitation arrangements with their son.
Under the order, Berry’s visitation with Maceo is limited to Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., as well as Saturdays and Sundays during the same hours. The judge also maintained partial custody arrangements to allow Berry and Maceo to remain in contact.
However, the judge declined Martinez’s request for Berry’s sobriety to be monitored, citing insufficient information.
The temporary order will remain in effect until a hearing later this month, when a judge is expected to consider whether it should become permanent.
In court documents, Martinez alleged that Berry caused him “emotional and mental distress due to physical abuse of our minor child, Maceo.”
Berry’s attorney, Marina Beck, rejected the allegations, describing Martinez’s filing as “entirely meritless and deliberately misleading.”
Beck said Berry was saddened by the development but remained focused on Maceo’s welfare and would continue to provide him with love and support.
