An Abuja-based media practitioner and social commentator, Mallam Abdulmalik Suleiman, has said the relationship between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is producing infrastructure development outcomes in the state.
Suleiman, in a statement issued in Abuja, said the ongoing projects across Kano State were evidence of cooperation between the federal government and the state administration.
According to him, the scale and spread of infrastructure projects across the state justified describing Kano as a “project state.”
He said Governor Yusuf had demonstrated prudent management of public resources, citing projects across the state’s 44 local government areas as evidence of the administration’s development efforts.
“It is glaring that Tinubu’s government at the centre and Governor Abba’s administration is simply a partnership that works and produces results. You can see it in the quality and spread of the projects,” Suleiman stated.
The media practitioner, who visited Kano on Thursday and toured several project sites, listed Lamido Crescent Road, Justice Dahiru Mustapha Farm Centre Road, Mai Allo Nassarawa/Gezawa Road, Tudun Wada Road and Minjibir/Ungogo Road among the locations he visited.
He said the projects covered several sectors, including road construction, flyovers, renovation of schools and hospitals, urban renewal and rural development.
Suleiman said the projects were contributing to what he described as a new look for the state.
“Kano is a work in progress. What I saw is beyond what people say outside. The governor is quietly delivering massive projects. Everywhere you turn, there is construction work going on. Kano is indeed a project site,” he added.
He urged Nigerians to visit Kano State and assess the projects firsthand, saying such visits would provide residents and visitors with an opportunity to see the ongoing development activities.
Suleiman said the collaboration between the federal government and the All Progressives Congress-led administration in Kano demonstrated the potential benefits of cooperation between different levels of government in delivering infrastructure and other development projects.
