The Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) has commenced the profiling and screening of applicants for its Technical Skills Acquisition Programme at the Lamurde Local Government Secretariat in Adamawa State.
The exercise, which began on Monday, is aimed at selecting eligible beneficiaries for practical training designed to promote self-reliance, employment and sustainable livelihoods.
The process involves compiling and verifying applicants’ information, assessing their eligibility and conducting a qualifying entrance examination for those who meet the stipulated requirements.
Successful candidates will receive admission letters to begin training at designated, approved centres.
The programme is open to applicants aged 18 to 40 who possess basic literacy skills and demonstrate an interest in acquiring practical, marketable technical skills.
Profiling and screening will continue until Friday, October 9, 2026, while the entrance examination is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026.
The initiative forms part of the Adamawa State Government’s poverty alleviation and wealth creation efforts under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
Through the programme, PAWECA aims to equip beneficiaries with vocational skills to establish businesses, secure employment and contribute to the local economy.
The agency urged applicants to cooperate with officials, provide accurate information and comply with the guidelines throughout the screening and examination processes.
