Son Arrested For Writing FCTA Promotion Examination For Father

A 33-year-old man, identified as Monsuru Musa, has been arrested for allegedly impersonating his father, Musa Mohammed, during the ongoing promotion examination for workers in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

The incident occurred on Wednesday, the third day of the promotion examination being conducted by the FCT Civil Service Commission.

Musa was reportedly caught writing the examination on behalf of his father, who is said to be an employee of the FCT Fire Service.

The incident was disclosed in a video posted on Wednesday by media aide to Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, Lere Olayinka on his X handle.

According to the account, security personnel deployed to monitor the examination following the directive of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, apprehended the 33-year-old at the examination venue located within the premises of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

During questioning, Monsuru reportedly claimed that his father was sick and could not sit for the examination himself.

He, however, admitted that his father had directed him to take the examination on his behalf.

When asked about his father’s age, Monsuru said his father was between 67 and 68 years old.

However, his father, Musa Mohammed, gave a different account of his age, saying he would be 60 years old by February 2027.

The discrepancy prompted further questioning by the security personnel.

During interrogation, Mohammed stated that he completed his primary education in 1977 and secondary education in 1982.

Following the incident, both father and son were reportedly taken into custody and handed over to the police for further investigation.

The duo had earlier made statements to operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) before being transferred to the police.
