Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, has commended the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for progress recorded under its current leadership and urged the Commission to sustain its focus on pilgrims’ welfare.
Ahmed, also known as Ajiyan Katagum, made the remarks when he paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, at the Hajj House in Abuja.
The visit provided an opportunity for the former SGF to offer guidance on improving Hajj administration and service delivery to Nigerian pilgrims.
Ahmed expressed appreciation for the reception and commended the progress made by the Commission under Yusuf’s leadership.
He particularly praised the Chairman’s agenda, noting its emphasis on prioritising the welfare and needs of pilgrims.
According to him, sustained attention to pilgrims’ welfare remains essential to improving their overall Hajj experience.
Responding, Yusuf described Ahmed as a key stakeholder whose administrative experience, knowledge and insight remained valuable to the Hajj sector.
The NAHCON chairman thanked the former SGF for his visit and continued interest in the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims.
Yusuf also assured Ahmed that the Commission would continue to draw on the experience and counsel of key stakeholders as it pursues reforms aimed at improving Hajj administration and service delivery.
He said NAHCON remained committed to implementing practical measures that would enhance the experience of Nigerian pilgrims.
