‘I Can Feel His Presence’: Kylie Minogue Reflects On Ex Michael Hutchence In Netflix Doc

Australian singer, songwriter and actress Kylie Minogue has spoken candidly about the loss of her former partner, INXS frontman Michael Hutchence, in an emotional interview tied to her upcoming Netflix documentary series, Kylie.

Speaking with Hello magazine, the pop star admitted that reflecting on her relationship with Hutchence moved her to tears during filming. “I knew it was gonna happen, and here it comes,” she said. “When I really think about him and talk about him, I can often just feel his presence and think about that time.”

Minogue and Hutchence were together from 1989 to 1991. He died in 1997. In the documentary, she described making a conscious effort to immerse herself in those memories. “I was really trying to put myself back in the moment,” she said, adding that she hoped the raw emotion would resonate with viewers.

The singer also revisited a deeply personal chapter in her health journey — her 2005 breast cancer diagnosis, which forced her to withdraw from a headline slot at Glastonbury. More than two decades on, she described returning to that period for the camera as “both cathartic and difficult.”
