AMAC Chairman Appoints Madaki As Chief Press Secretary

Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has approved the appointment of Hon. Kingsley Rufus Madaki as the chief press secretary to the Chairman

The appointment was conveyed in an official letter dated 15 June 2026, signed by the Executive Chairman, who described the appointment as a call to service aimed at strengthening communication and public engagement with Councilncil.

According to the letter, Madaki’s appointment takes immediate effect. It is subject to the pleasure of the Chairman. Madaki expressed confidence in the new chief press secretary’s capacity to contribute meaningfully to the administration’s vision of delivering people-oriented governance and accelerating development across the Abuja Municipal Area Council.

The chair manageded the appointee to demonstrate a high level of responsibility, maturity, loyalty, competence, commitment and dedication in the discharge of his duties.

He noted that the appointment comes with the expectation that Madaki will deploy his experience and expertise to Council’s activities, programmes and achievements, while ensuring the effective dissemination of information to residents and stakeholders.

“Your appointment is at the pleasure of the Executive Chairman of the Council. You are expected to contribute your own quota towards the progress and development of Council,” the appointment letter stated.

 

While congratulating the new chief press secretary on what he described as a well-deserved appointment, Maikalangu expressed optimism that the appointment would further strengthen Council’s communication machinery and enhance public confidence in the administration.

 

The appointment is part of ongoing efforts by the AMAC leadership to reposition Council for improved service delivery and effective engagement with residents of the nation’s capital.
