Ekiti Poll: Mark, Aregbesola Lead ADC Grand Finale Campaign, Urge People To Vote Out APC

The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, and the party’s National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, on Thursday led the party’s top leadership to Ado-Ekiti for the grand finale of campaigns ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State.

At the rally , the ADC leaders urged voters to reject the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and support the party’s governorship candidate, insisting that the time had come for the people of Ekiti to elect a governor of their choice.

The party  also presented its governorship candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, to supporters as the with a promise  that he is capable of delivering a government that reflects the aspirations and expectations of the people.

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the National Chairman, Kola Ologbondiyan, Aregbesola criticised governance in the country and accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of failing to meet the expectations of Nigerians.

He  said insecurity and economic hardship had continued to worsen under the current administration, while national resources were not being deployed in the interest of ordinary citizens.

“Your country has been abducted,” Aregbesola declared, alleging that beyond the ransoms paid to bandits and terrorists, Nigerians were also paying the price of poor governance.

He urged Nigerians to reject the ruling party at all levels of elections and take responsibility for changing the nation’s political trajectory through the ballot box.

Addressing party supporters, Senator Mark said the people of Ekiti deserved a governor who would reflect their aspirations and deliver good governance.

“After so many years, the people of Ekiti deserve a governor of their dreams. Come out en masse and vote for your candidate. I believe that by your votes, we shall return here for the inauguration of the new government that will be elected,” he said.

The ADC governorship candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, is seeking to unseat the incumbent administration in Saturday’s governorship election.

The rally marked the party’s final major campaign outing ahead of the poll.
