2027 Poll:INEC Disowns Purported APC Candidates’ Notice For Lagos Reps

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed as fake a document circulating on social media claiming to be an official public notice containing the names of candidates of the  All Progressives Congress (APC) for Federal House of Representatives in Lagos State ahead of the 2027 general election.

The Commission made the clarification in a statement posted on its social media accounts on Monday.

INEC said the purported notice did not originate from the Commission and described it as misleading and fraudulent.

According to the Commission, it has neither authorised nor published any such notice and urged members of the public not to rely on the document.

INEC further stated that the signature appearing on the circulated notice does not belong to its Secretary, stressing that the publication was fabricated.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Commission has not authorised or published any such notice. The purported publication does not originate from any official INEC platform or process,” the statement said.

The Commission advised political parties, stakeholders, the media and the public to disregard the document entirely and rely only on information released through its official communication channels.

INEC reaffirmed its commitment to providing timely, accurate and credible information on all electoral activities.
