50 Nigerian students have become the latest beneficiaries of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) scholarship as part of the efforts to strengthen bilateral ties between India and Nigeria.
A statement issued on Saturday by the High Commission of India in Abuja noted that the 50 Nigerian students who were successful in the examination and interview for the scholarship will be hosted by the High Commission on Monday, 6 July 2026, to equip them with information about their trip to India.
“Over the years, the Government of India has demonstrated this kind gesture to Nigerian students who meet the criteria. The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) scholarship is a furtherance of the strong bilateral relations between India and Nigeria.
“This briefing is to equip the students with the necessary information about what is expected of them and also come back to Nigeria to contribute to the economic development of the nation,” the statement said.
