The 35-year-old Grammy Award-winning star reached the milestone on Monday, further cementing his position as one of Africa’s biggest global music exports.

Burna Boy’s latest achievement was largely driven by his collaboration with Shakira on the FIFA World Cup song, Dai Dai, which has topped Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart for several days.

The song also helped Shakira achieve a career milestone, pushing her to 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify for the first time. She becomes only the second Latino artiste to reach the feat after Bad Bunny.

In another major achievement, the music video for ‘Dai Dai’ became the first to surpass 300 million views on YouTube in 2026.
