TECH FEATURE: RISE 2026 Set To Bring Nigeria’s Biggest Tech Minds Together

The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) is bringing over 2,000 technology leaders, policy makers, academics, and founders together in Jos, Plateau State, for RISE 2026—one of the country’s premier tech gatherings of the year.

Running from July 27 to July 30, the 20th International Conference on Technology and Computing operates under the theme *”Harnessing Digital Innovation and Emerging Technologies for Inclusive Growth and Economic Renaissance.”*

Unlike typical tech events centered strictly around venture capital or consumer apps, RISE 2026 addresses structural challenges: bridging the digital divide, accelerating AI adoption, refining policy frameworks, and developing local human capital. Key sub-themes cover everything from fintech and data privacy to robotics and cloud computing infrastructure.

The choice of Jos as the host city is a strategic effort to decentralize tech dialogue outside the usual hubs of Lagos and Abuja. Hosting the event in a hybrid format, the lineup features major regulatory figures, including representatives from the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, alongside researchers and local startup founders.

For Nigeria’s technology ecosystem, the focus goes beyond networking—it aims to translate policy discussions into practical, measurable digital growth.
