5-year-old Boy, Mother, Brother Killed In Kaduna Building Collapse

A building collapse in Dan Mani community of Rigasa in Igabi local government area of Kaduna state has killed a woman, her two children, throwing residents into mourning.

An eyewitness account said a 5-year-old son of the woman was among the victims.

The eyewitness further said the incident happened in the early hours of Friday as residents of the area gathered in the morning to sympathise with the family.

In an interview with our correspondent over the incident, Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA)’s spokesperson, Dominic Philip, confirmed that a woman and her two children died in the collapsed building in the area.

Philip, who said the agency has deployed an assessment team, added that, “We got the report of building collapse in Dan Mani Community in Rigasa Community today and deployed our rescue and search team to the area.

“The report from our team led by the Zone 2 coordinator, the one in charge of Kaduna and environs, stated that the woman and her two children unfortunately died in the collapsed building.”
