Notorious Ritualist Nabbed In Kebbi

The Police in Kebbi State have arrested a notorious ritualist, Abubakar Musa, in Zuru local government area of the state.

Confirming the incident in a statement by the spokesman of the Police command, SP Bashir Usman on Friday, he said the suspect was arrested in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy, abuse of religious Holy books, use of spells and hypnosis and, inciting quos and unrest in Mose Village under Zuru emirate.

According to the statement, preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly conspired with two others, Rabi’u Tela, husband of Zahara’u Hassan and, Hamza Zango both currently at large and dug a pit inside Zahara’u Hassan’s matrimonial room and buried a copy of the Qu’ran together with semen, white and red kola nuts, underwear, dead animals and other fetish items for ritual.

The act, according to the statement, was allegedly intended to force or make Zahara’u Hassan’s husband, Rabi’u Hassan to love her more than ever before.

The Commissioner of Police, Umar Muhammad Hadejia, condemned the action and commended the efforts of Police personnel who arrested the suspects.

The CP warned that the command will deal decisively, within the law, with anyone in the society trying to cause religious quos or public disturbances in the communities.

He urged people to always report suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station noted that efforts are put in place to track down the two fleeing suspects while the principal suspect, Abubakar Musa remained in Police custody.
