Osun Election 2026:  ICPC Official Confronts Man Counting Voters At Ede Polling Unit

An official of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has confronted a man attempting to count voters at Akoda Ward 9, Unit 1, in Ede, Osun State.

The incident, captured in a video shared by TVC News on Saturday, occurred as voters gathered at the polling unit for the ongoing Osun State governorship election.

In the footage, the ICPC official was seen challenging the man, who appeared to be a voter, over his attempt to keep a headcount of people at the polling unit.

The official instructed the man to stop recording the number of voters and advised him to join the queue once voting commenced.

“When the election commences, we queue up. We are here to monitor. We don’t want any problems,” the official said.

He further warned the man against taking the voters’ count, telling him, “You don’t have any right to be writing numbers. You know your job.”

The official then directed the man to proceed with the voting process, saying, “When the election commences, queue up. Go and do your work… Go and cast your vote.”

The confrontation comes as security and electoral officials intensify monitoring across Osun State to prevent electoral malpractice and other activities capable of disrupting the governorship election.

Osun State has 2,339,233 registered voters, according to figures released ahead of the election.

Of this number, 1,906,390 voters, representing 81.50 per cent, collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and are eligible to vote in the election.

The voters are expected to cast their ballots across 3,763 polling units in 332 wards spread across the state’s 30 local government areas.
