Osun Election 2026

After months of politicking and intense campaigns, the Osun governorship election holds today in 332 wards across 3,763 polling units in the 30 local government areas of the state.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), there are 2,339,233 registered voters. However, more than 1.9 million people collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of today’s poll.

‎Voters have turned out in large numbers at several polling units ahead of the commencement of voting in the Osun governorship election.

‎At Igbogi Ward 1, Unit 7, voters were already gathered at the polling unit before the scheduled 8:30am commencement of voting, waiting patiently to cast their ballots.

‎A similar scene was observed at Lower Egbedi Junction Ward 2, Unit 8, where voters also arrived early and waited for the voting exercise to begin.

‎At Ijamo Ward 5, Units 1 and 2, voters were equally on ground ahead of the commencement time, ready to exercise their franchise.

‎Security personnel were present at the various polling units to maintain order and ensure a peaceful conduct of the election as voters awaited the arrival of election officials and the commencement of voting.
