Organisers Highlight Expected Gains Of Proposed South West Investment Summit

The organisers of the South-West Investment Summit have said the initiative will unlock the region’s investment potential, create employment opportunities for youths and accelerate sustainable economic growth.

The co-conveners of the summit, Desmond Agboola and Kingsley Agboola, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja yesterday.

They said the summit was designed not merely as an annual gathering but as a strategic platform for building partnerships capable of attracting investments, creating jobs and improving the livelihoods of people across the South-West.

According to the organisers, the initiative will bring together government officials, investors, business leaders, entrepreneurs, development partners and policymakers to explore opportunities for sustainable regional development.

“When leaders, investors, innovators and policymakers come together with a shared purpose, the possibilities for regional transformation are limitless,” they said.

The organisers said their vision was to position South-West Nigeria as a leading destination for investment, innovation, enterprise and sustainable economic development.

They explained that they had consistently leveraged the media, strategic engagement, and high-impact events to promote economic growth, celebrate transformational leadership, and amplify conversations that can shape the region’s future.

The brothers stressed that the media should not be viewed merely as a tool for reporting events but also as a catalyst for development, investment and social transformation.

They said the South-West Investment Summit and Advancement Awards had evolved beyond an annual gathering into a strategic platform where government officials, business leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, development partners and policy experts converge to exchange ideas, forge partnerships and explore opportunities capable of transforming the region’s economic landscape.

The organisers noted that the South-West possessed the human capital, resources and entrepreneurial spirit required to compete effectively on the global stage.

They added that the summit would help unlock these opportunities through dialogue, investment promotion and recognition of outstanding contributions to regional development.

“Our responsibility is to create platforms that connect people, ideas and opportunities,” they said.

As part of their broader vision, the brothers are also set to launch Inside the SouthWest Podcast TV, a regional podcast and digital media platform designed to showcase investment opportunities, entrepreneurship, governance, innovation, tourism, culture, youth development, business success stories and policy discussions.

Kingsley Agboola said the platform would provide an avenue to showcase the achievements of the region and promote its untapped investment opportunities to a wider global audience.

“We want to own the narrative of the South-West. Our region is filled with remarkable success stories, groundbreaking innovations, visionary leaders and untapped investment opportunities,” he said.

He added that the platform would feature influential leaders, industry experts, innovators and changemakers while creating conversations capable of influencing the region’s development trajectory.
