The chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Kwara State, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, on Saturday said that the party’s structures in the state remain solid and intact despite any perceived internal disagreement.
Fagbemi was reacting to the statement credited to Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State to the effect that three north central states – Kwara, Nasarawa and Benue, have challenges of internal disagreements ahead of the 2027 elections.
Governor Sule, had during a meeting of the North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network, held in the office of the secretary to the government of the Federation, Abuja, identified internal disagreements as biggest challenge facing APC in the north central .
Speaking exclusively with LEADERSHIP, Fagbemi clarified that the much- talked about internal disagreement in Kwara APC is imaginary.
” Let me state clearly here that the much- talked about internal disagreement in Kwara APC, ochestrated by a group called G15 exists only on the pages of newspapers. Majority of them are back to APC’s fold.
“Not only this, the major financier of the the PDP in Kwara South which boasts of seven of the 16 local government areas of the state, Dr Idowu Musa Audu, has resigned from the party and is officially joining the APC today( Saturday ) with his supporters in the zone.
” Generally, our governor and leader, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq( Sardauna of Ilorin) and chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum( NGF) does not have problem with the people of Kwara State. He has met the peoples’ expectations in so many areas and he’s still executing developmental project at the eleventh hour of his administration,” Fagbemi said.
The APC chairman said execution of monumental developmentmental projects across the three senatorial districts of the state, prompt and regular payment of workers salary, retirees pensions, regular promotion of workers and robust relationship with the traditional institution, have endeared AbdulRazaq to the people of the state.
Fagbemi declared that APC would win the presidential, gubernatorial and parliamentary elections in the state come 2027 as it did in 2019 and 2023.
