Member representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has said the recent political realignment and growing unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) will position the party for victory in Kano State in the 2027 general elections.
Doguwa stated this while addressing his constituents in Doguwa Local Government Area of Kano State, where he called on APC members and supporters to work together as one family to ensure the success of the party at all levels.
He said the coming together of political forces that were previously on opposite sides had created a new platform for unity and cooperation in Doguwa and Tudun Wada.
According to him, the development had brought former political opponents under one umbrella, providing what he described as a level playing field for all members to work collectively for the party.
He cited the Doguwa Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Umaru Haruna, and other political stakeholders as among those now working within the APC fold.
Doguwa also mentioned retired Air Commodore Salisu Yusuf and his wife, the Chairperson of Tudun Wada Local Government and Kano State ALGON, Hajiya Sa’adatu Soja, as part of the political realignment in the constituency.
He said the new development had transformed the political atmosphere in the area, with former opponents now working for the success of APC and the administration of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
“We have now come of age, and we have also gotten a level playing ground because all of us, both forces in the opposition then and those other huge forces within us now and before, are now converged on one umbrella and on one page,” Doguwa said.
He added: “We are operating as a family. We are operating as a democratically elected group of people, and we will continue to ensure that victory comes to the APC from top to bottom.”
The lawmaker said the political changes in Tudun Wada and Doguwa had also reflected in the disposition and pronouncements of former opposition members, who, according to him, were now working towards the success of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Doguwa further called for support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, saying the APC’s growing unity would strengthen the party’s chances across the state.
He urged party supporters to continue praying for the President and other political leaders, saying leaders needed wisdom and the ability to make decisions that would benefit Nigerians.
On the Federal Government’s economic policies, including fuel subsidy removal and taxation reforms, Doguwa acknowledged the difficulties faced by Nigerians but said government policies and laws could be reviewed when necessary.
“We know the withdrawal of subsidy is quite tough. It’s a bit tough. We know several and multiple taxation is also an issue that some of our people are not happy with it,” he said.
Doguwa said as a representative of the people, he would continue to communicate their concerns to President Tinubu and other policymakers.
“I can reach out to His Excellency, Mr. President, to tell him where the shoe is pinching,” he said, adding that he believed the President would listen to suggestions from representatives of the people.
He also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for what he described as achievements in infrastructure and human development, saying the people of the constituency would continue to support efforts aimed at improving their welfare.
Doguwa urged his constituents to remain united and work together for peace, development and political success in the constituency and Kano State.
