Nasarawa Assembly Confirms 8 Commissioner Nominees

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has confirmed eight commissioner nominees forwarded to it by Governor Abdullahi Sule.

The Speaker, Mr. Danladi Jatau, announced this on Wednesday after the screening of the nominees during plenary in Lafia.

Jatau congratulated the nominees and urged them to live above board when they are eventually sworn in.

Those confirmed are Muhammad Habeeb Nagogo from Wamba Local Government Area, Ahmed Yakubu Mohammed from Lafia LGA, Mohammed Baba Shehu from Keffi LGA, Mohammed Iyimoga Oyigye from Obi LGA, Adamu Rabecca Kpadji from Wamba LGA, Nawani Aboki from Doma LGA, Jibril Abdullahi Ibrahim from Nasarawa LGA, and Ashefo Daniel Paul from Lafia LGA.

He directed the Clerk of the House to communicate the resolution to the governor for further necessary action.

Earlier, the Majority Leader, Suleiman Yakubu Azara, moved the motion for the confirmation of the nominees, while the Minority Leader, Luka Zhekaba, seconded the motion.

The House unanimously confirmed the nominees after lawmakers from their respective local government areas spoke in their favour.

The Speaker had on August 5 unveiled the eight nominees sent by the governor.
