FEC Commends Osun Gov’ship Election

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has commended the democratic process displayed during the just-concluded Osun State governorship election.

The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu.

Udeh said the Council celebrated the democratic process witnessed during the election, noting that President Tinubu joined members of the Council in celebrating the demonstration of democracy during the poll.

He said: “Council also celebrated democracy that was on display in last Saturday’s election in Osun State. Mr President actually celebrated with the members of Council, as to, of course, the demonstration of democracy in the last Saturday election in Osun State.”

The minister’s comments came days after President Tinubu congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election in the Osun State governorship election.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday, the President described Adeleke’s victory as a confirmation of the confidence the people of Osun State have reposed in him.

Tinubu said he had called Adeleke earlier in the day to congratulate him on his victory.

“I called Governor Ademola Adeleke earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State. His victory once again confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in him,” the President said.
