Olu Of Warri Marks 5th Anniversary With 10-Day Event

The Warri Kingdom has wrapped up a 10-day series of public activities organized to celebrate the 5th coronation anniversary of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III.

Ogiame Atuwatse III ascended the throne on August 21, 2021, as the 21st Olu of Warri, succeeding his uncle, Ogiame Ikenwoli.

The anniversary concluded with a grand thanksgiving service held in Warri, bringing together royal family members, community leaders, and Itsekiri indigenous groups who returned from the diaspora for the event.

The 10-day celebration featured rich cultural displays, traditional heritage exhibitions, and a special “Global Homecoming” initiative designed to reconnect diaspora communities with their roots in Delta State.

Attended by guests from across the country and abroad, the gathering offered sons and daughters of Iwere land an opportunity to celebrate five years of the monarch’s reign.
