First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu also joined in celebrating the Vice President’s Diamond Jubilee, hailing his strength, loyalty, commitment and love for the country.
In a statement personally signed by him to mark Shettima’s birthday on September 2, President Tinubu said he warmly celebrated his deputy, whom he described as his “brother and partner in steering the ship of our state.”
The President also rejoiced with the Vice President’s wife, Nana Shettima, his children, family members and political associates on the milestone.

“Kashim is not just a trusted ally or a valued colleague, but also a patriot whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice for worthy causes,” the President said.
He said the celebration of the Vice President’s 60th birthday was also an opportunity to recognise his distinguished banking career and record of service to Borno State and Nigeria.
Tinubu particularly praised Shettima’s commitment to Nigeria’s progress and unity, noting his years of dedicated public service, first as governor of Borno State and subsequently as Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to the President, Shettima has demonstrated courage, diligence, compassion and an abiding commitment to improving the lives of the people in both capacities.
Tinubu also acknowledged the Vice President’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), his support for the administration and his unwavering dedication to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The President said Shettima had provided purposeful leadership as Chairman of the National Economic Council, particularly in coordinating economic policy and fostering collaboration between the federal government and the sub-nationals.
He further said the Vice President’s respect for constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation had helped strengthen good governance.
“As a trusted partner, his loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty have remained invaluable to the administration,” Tinubu said.
The President thanked Shettima for his steadfast support and partnership, saying they would continue to work together to deliver the promises of the Renewed Hope Agenda to Nigerians.
“I must thank Vice President Shettima for his steadfast support and partnership as we continue to join hands in delivering the promises of Renewed Hope to Nigerians,” Tinubu said.
“I am confident that working together, we will continue to make meaningful progress in building the Nigeria of our dreams.”
