Kaduna Government Commences Disbursement Of 200K To KIVTSD Graduates

There was joy and relief across Kaduna this week as 4,050 graduates of the Kaduna State Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development, KIVTSD, began receiving their start-up grants.

For many of the graduates, the alert on their phones was more than money, it was proof that government can keep its promise.

Dorathy David Nuhu, who emerged as the best graduating student from the Catering and Hospitality Department, could not hide her excitement.

“This is a fulfillment of His Excellency Governor Uba Sani’s promise. I have received my ₦200,000 and I am ready to start my catering business. We thank the Governor for believing in us,” she said.

Abubakar Yahuza from the Computer/ICT Department said the grant will go beyond him.

“This money will not only help me, it will help my entire family. We appreciate the Governor and I assure him of the vote of my family in the 2027 elections,” he stated.

Maryam Mohammed from Painting and POP also confirmed receipt.
“Governor Uba Sani has come to our aid. This ₦200,000 start-up grant will help me buy materials and start my business. May God bless him,” she said.

Shamsiya Adamu said she was among the first to receive the alert.
“I thank Senator Uba Sani for empowering us. We will give him our full support towards his re-election,” she pledged.

Another aspiring entrepreneur, Zainab Abubakar Sadiq, said she has already acted on the grant.
“I have used my ₦200,000 to purchase a sewing machine and other items required for my business. I am ready for business and I thank the Kaduna State Government,” she said.

Aisha Ahmed Mohammed from the Catering Department also expressed gratitude.
“This assistance from Governor Uba Sani means a lot to us. My vote and that of my people is for the Governor,” she said.

The commencement of the disbursement marks a major step in Gov. Uba Sani’s plan to reduce unemployment, tackle insecurity, and grow the state’s economy.

Residents described the program as the first of its kind in Nigeria, directly linking skills acquisition with capital so graduates don’t graduate into poverty.

With KIVTSD operating across 3 campuses, the administration says Kaduna is on track to become not just Nigeria’s skills hub, but the skills hub of the entire African region.
