City Boy Movement Strengthens Kogi Grassroots Structure Ahead Of 2027

The Senior Technical Adviser to Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, and member of the Elder Advisory Council of the City Boy Movement, Chief Edime Godwin Amade, has commended the movement’s Kogi State Director, Chief Mark Okpanachi Ogah, for his grassroots mobilisation and organisational capacity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Amade gave the commendation during an inspection of the movement’s newly-acquired state office located opposite the Kogi State Government House in Lokoja.

He was received by Ogah during the visit, which also provided an opportunity for the movement’s leadership to assess the facility ahead of its formal inauguration and discuss strategies for strengthening its operations and grassroots mobilisation across the state.

Speaking during the inspection, Ogah described the acquisition of the office as a major milestone for the movement, saying it reflected its growing acceptance, organisational strength and expanding grassroots structure in Kogi State.

He said the facility would serve as a strategic coordination centre for meetings, political planning, membership mobilisation and engagement with supporters across the state’s 21 local government areas.

Ogah also commended Barrister Seyi Tinubu, for what he described as his visionary leadership and commitment to creating an enabling platform for young Nigerians and grassroots political structures.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Ododo for his support for the state directorate, particularly the provision of security for the movement’s activities.

According to him, the peaceful and secure environment provided by the administration had enabled the movement to expand its operations and engage communities with greater confidence.

Ogah reaffirmed the City Boy Movement’s commitment to constructive political engagement, youth participation and grassroots mobilisation, as well as its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the developmental programmes of the Ododo administration.

Amade, in his remarks, described Ogah as a “serious-minded political organiser,” commending his political capacity, organisational discipline and ability to build bridges across political, community and youth structures.

He said the growing visibility of the City Boy Movement in Kogi was evidence of effective leadership, adding that the level of political access and mobilisation achieved by the organisation could not be attained by an unserious or poorly coordinated group.

Amade said the movement had positioned itself as a platform capable of strengthening grassroots support for President Tinubu and consolidating the achievements of the Ododo administration ahead of the 2027 elections.

He disclosed that the Kogi State Government was willing to synergise with the City Boy Movement on grassroots mobilisation and voter engagement, with the objective of achieving what he described as a “bumper harvest” of votes for President Tinubu and Governor Ododo in 2027.

The governor’s aide, however, stressed that political mobilisation must go beyond social media, urging the movement to establish strong structures at the community, ward and polling-unit levels.

He also charged members to expand their reach, engage young people and maintain peaceful relationships with communities and other stakeholders.

The newly – acquired office, strategically located opposite the Kogi State Government House, is expected to serve as the operational hub of the City Boy Movement in Kogi State, providing a base for strategic planning, meetings, membership coordination and grassroots mobilisation.
