Kwara Gov, Speaker, Emir Condole With LEADERSHIP’s Olesin Over Mother’s Death

The Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has condoled with the Kwara State correspondent of LEADERSHIP, Alhaji Abdullahi Hanafi Olesin, over the death of his mother, Alhaja Munirat Hanafi Imam Olesin.

Alhaja Olesin died on Tuesday at the age of 87, and has been buried according to Islamic rites.

The janazah prayer was led by the chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Mohammed Bashir Dasuki Fulani .

The governor was represented at the prayer by his senior adviser and counsellor, Alh Saadu Salahu, while the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Engr. Yakubu Danladi- Salihu was represented by his chief press secretary, Sheu AbdulKadir Yusuf.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Governor, who described the death of Alhaja Olesin as painful, said the deceased lived a good life.

The governor commiserated with her family, most especially her son, Alhaji Olesin, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), the National League of Veteran Journalists (NALVEJ), where he is serving as Publicity Secretary, and the entire media community over the incident.

He prayed to Allaah to grant Alhaja Munirat Al-jannah Firdaus, and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

In his condolence message, the speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly and APC Governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu sympathised with Alhaji Olesin on the passing of his dear mother.

Danladi-Salihu described Alhaja Munirat as a virtuous and responsible woman who lived a life worthy of emulation and left behind legacies of devotion, commitment and dedication to Islam, family and community development.

The speaker also identified with the entire Imam Olesin family, urging them to be comforted with the good life Alhaja Munirat lived.

The APC governorship candidate prayed to Allah to forgive and grant Alhaja Munirat Aljanat Fridaos and give Alhaji Olesin and the entire family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The Emir of Ilorin and chairman, Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, also expressed heartfelt condolences to Olesin, over the passing of his beloved mother.

In a statement issued by his spokesman, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, the Emir described the death as a great loss not only to the immediate family but to humanity in general.

The Emir noted that mothers occupy a special place in the society, and their prayers, guidance and sacrifices remain invaluable to the success of their children.

He extended his deepest sympathies to the entire Olesin Family at this difficult time.

“We pray Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings, grant her Al-jannah Firdaus, and give the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he added.

The monarch prayed that Allah grants Alhaji Olesin and members of his family the strength and patience to endure the painful exit of their matriarch.

The national president of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alh Abdulmumini Abdulmalik, expressed profound sadness on the death of a prominent community leader, Alhaja Munirat Hanafi Imam Olesin.

Abdulmalik sympathised with the veteran journalist and his siblings as well as other relations of the deceased, saying that no loss could be greater than the death of a beloved mother.

The President, however, urged Alhaji Olesin and his siblings to take solace in the fact that their mother lived a relatively long life and was able to impact positively on her family and the community at large during her lifetime.

Abdulmalik prayed to Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and reward her good deeds with Aljanat Fridaous as he also wished all those who are bereaved the fortitude to bear her death.

Prominent organisations including the Nigeria Union of Journalists( NUJ), League of Veteran Journalists(NALVEJ) and the National Women Journalists Association ( NAWOJ) have commiserated with Olesin over the incident.
