Kebbi ADC Kicks Off 2027 Governorship, Assembly Campaigns

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has commenced its 2027 governorship and assembly campaigns, as directed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The party’s director-general of Campaigns, Hon. Sani Tadurga, hinted of the commencement of the campaigns at a news conference in Birnin Kebbi.

He said their governorship candidate, Abubakar Chika Malami, had pledged to run issue-based campaigns, improve healthcare and revitalise critical sectors in the state.

Tadurga further revealed that Malami, a former attorney-general and minister of justice, was in the race to reposition the state’s education, security and agriculture, and to turn around the fortunes of Kebbi for the benefit of the people.

He added that the campaign train would highlight plans to improve the tourism sector through public-private partnerships, creating hundreds of jobs for young people.

According to him, if Malami is elected governor in 2027, he will fight for out-of-school children and improve the quality of education through a robust education policy that will drive the successful implementation of the Education for All policy in the state.

Tadurga, however, noted the party’s readiness to take campaigns to every nook and cranny in the state, as it will not take any community for granted during the campaigns. He also challenged the APC state government on how it utilised N6.343 billion received from FACC.

Reacting to the press conference, the Special Adviser to the governor on communication and strategy, Alhaji Abdullahi Zuru, said that their gathering was just a mere distraction from the visible, huge developmental projects being executed in Kebbi state.

He added that the campaign train lied about the claims in healthcare, education and insecurity. No one doubts that there has been improved security in Kebbi state, with the support of the Kebbi state government through sustained logistics and welfare for security forces.

He stressed that the opposition always keeps mum on gains and achievements in all sectors in the state. Our security forces have made huge rescues of kidnapped victims and have repelled so many attacks in Kebbi state, but the opposition is only interested in shielding the truth and parading lies to gain cheap popularity.

Zuru added that the people of Kebbi State have decided to return the sitting governor, Dr Nasir Idris, as their governor, as there is no alternative to him.
