2027: Group Launches Campus Mobilisation In 25 Kano Institutions

The JAGABA/ABBA Students’ Mandate 2027, Kano State Chapter, has launched a campus ambassador network across 25 tertiary institutions in Kano State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group said the ambassadors would mobilise students, promote voter education and canvass support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Speaking at the launch, the convener, Comrade Nafiu Yunusa, said the initiative was aimed at taking the group’s message directly to students across the state.

He said, “We are here today to launch a movement driven by results, not rhetoric. The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and the visionary leadership of Governor Abba have transformed the educational landscape of our state and nation.

“Our campus ambassadors will take this message of progress to every lecture hall, hostel, and campus in Kano.”

Yunusa said the group’s support for Tinubu was based on what it described as federal government interventions in education, including the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) student loan scheme, technical and vocational education programmes and investments through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

He also cited the conversion of the Federal College of Education, Kano, to Yusuf Maitama Sule Federal University of Education, Kano, and the proposed upgrade of Federal Polytechnic Kabo to a university of technology.

On Governor Yusuf, Yunusa cited the state government’s declaration of a state of emergency in education, increased budgetary allocation to the sector, free education from primary to secondary school and reduced fees in state-owned tertiary institutions.

He said the administration had also recruited teachers, renovated classrooms and provided learning facilities across the state.

The newly inaugurated ambassadors were charged with mobilising students and articulating the group’s position on the Tinubu and Yusuf administrations ahead of the 2027 elections.

Yunusa said, “The future of our education depends on continuity. We cannot afford to return to a past where education was neglected.”

The group’s launch comes as political groups across the country intensify mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
