The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by its Interim National Chairman, Kabiru Turaki (SAN), has felicitated former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (retd.), on his 85th birthday.
The party, in a goodwill message signed by Turaki, described Babangida as one of Nigeria’s most detribalised citizens, while commending his contributions to the country.
According to the PDP interim chairman, Babangida had, throughout his public and private life, demonstrated qualities that transcended ethnic and regional considerations.
“At 85, we celebrate the grace Allah has bestowed upon you and the selfless way you have used that grace, both in your official and personal capacities, making you one of the most detribalised Nigerians ever,” Turaki said.
The PDP leadership wished the former military president continued good health, strength and wisdom, while celebrating his 85 years of life and service to Nigeria.
The former military ruler, who governed Nigeria from 1985 to 1993, remains a prominent figure in the country’s political history.
