Oyedepo At 72: Saraki Praises Cleric’s Courage, Unwavering Conviction

Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has celebrated the Founder and Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, on his 72nd birthday, praising his courage and unwavering commitment to his convictions.

Saraki, in a birthday message posted on his verified Facebook page on Sunday, said he had always admired Oyedepo for the courage with which he expressed and stood by his beliefs.

He also acknowledged the impact of Oyedepo’s ministry on the faith of many people.

Saraki said, “I have always admired the courage with which the Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, stands by his convictions.

“He says what he believes, even when it isn’t the easiest thing to say, and through his ministry, so many people have found their faith.”

The former Senate President prayed for continued good health and long life for the cleric, while wishing him many more years of service to Nigerians and humanity.

“As he turns 72 today, I pray that God continues to keep him in good health and grants him many more years of service to Nigerians and humanity.

“Happy birthday, Sir,” he added.

Earlier, LEADERSHIP reported that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had congratulated Oyedepo on his 72nd birthday, describing his life as one devoted to faith, service, leadership and human development.

In a statement by his Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu joined the Oyedepo family, Living Faith Church Worldwide, the Christian community and millions of the cleric’s admirers in celebrating the occasion.

The President acknowledged Oyedepo’s contributions to the moral and spiritual development of individuals and communities, particularly his emphasis on integrity, discipline, diligence, responsibility and excellence.

Tinubu also noted Oyedepo’s longstanding advocacy for values aimed at strengthening families, institutions and the nation, as well as his message of hope, purpose and personal responsibility, which he said had resonated with people across Nigeria and beyond.

The President further commended Oyedepo’s contributions to education and human-capital development through institutions including Covenant University and Landmark University.

According to Tinubu, the institutions have provided platforms for academic excellence, leadership development, entrepreneurship and innovation.
