Men Of God Are Human’ — Mary Njoku Slams Religious Leaders Over Accountability

Nollywood actress and ROK TV boss Mary Njoku has sparked online debate after calling out religious leaders who weaponize scripture to evade accountability.

Taking to her official Instagram page, the prominent filmmaker specifically targeted the widespread misuse of the biblical phrase “touch not my anointed.” She argued that the defensive verse should strictly apply when a leader is being falsely accused, lied against, or intentionally harmed.

According to Njoku, the scripture is often twisted into a shield to suppress the truth and silence legitimate public backlash brought on by a cleric’s own words or actions.

Stressing that “men of God are still human” and capable of making mistakes, she urged religious leaders to own up to their missteps, apologize when necessary, and allow for honest conversations rather than hiding behind religious immunity.
