Offa Stands Still As Kwara APC Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate, Others Hold Rally

… Olofa Hails Choice Of Adato As Deputy Governorship Candidate

The people of Offa town in Offa local government area of Kwara State yesterday trooped out enmasse to receive their son, Hon. Seun Ogunniyi (Adato), the deputy governorship candidate of the state’s All Progressives Congress( APC).

Ogunniyi was accompanied to his Offa native home by all other APC’s candidates in Kwara South.
The joy of the people of Offa knew no bound following the decision of the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to choose their son, Hon. Seun Ogunniyi as the running mate of the APC gubernatorial candidate and speaker of the State House of Assembly, Engr. Yakubu Danladi- Salihu for the 2027 general elections.

LEADERSHIP reports that the last time that an Offa man was a deputy governor of the state was in 1979- 1983 when the late Chief Shittu Ajiroba was the deputy of the late Governor Adamu Attah under the platform of the defunct National Party of Nigeria ( NPN).

The Olofa of Offa, Oba Muftau Esuwoye couldn’t hide his feelings and excitement over the choice of one of his subjects as the ruling party ‘s deputy governorship candidate.

The frontline monarch who received Ogunniyi and his team in his palace in Offa said:” We asked for it, and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq gave it to us. If he had not given us , there is nothing we could have done. As Hassan Oyeleke rightly said, we have had the Senate, House of Representatives, and Deputy Governorship positions.

There are still communities across the seven LGAs of Kwara South that have not had the opportunity to occupy these positions.

” Now that they have given us the Deputy Governor, you are calling it an “extra tyre.” You are the one who knows what an extra tyre is. But let me tell you this: it is only someone who does not understand his responsibility that would be regarded as an extra tyre.

” As for Adato, they have given him to us. He has served in the House of Assembly for four years, and throughout that period, he has never left my people. So, Adato and the APC governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Salihu-Danladi, will both emerge at the poll.

They have both served in the same State Assembly, and they know each other very well.

” I appreciate Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for picking Adato (Hon. Ogunniyi David Oluwaseun).”

Addressing the APC supporters, Ogunniyi assured them that the Danladi- Salihu’s administration would build up on the achievements of Governor AbdulRazaq.

He praised AbdulRazaq for executing legendary legacy projects across the three senatorial district of the state; for uplifting the educational standard of the state and for ensure the welfare of the civil servants through prompt and regular payment of salaries, amongst others.

Ogunniyi urged the people of Offa and the entire Ibolo people to reciprocate the governor’ s kind gesture by voting massively for all the APC candidates during the 2027 general elections.
