The Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has charged corps members in his state to be security conscious.
He urged them to imbibe the values of tolerance, peace and hospitality the state is known for while undertaking their 21-day induction course.
AbdulRazaq spoke during the swearing-in of 2026 Corps Members, Batch “C” Stream I, in Ilorin, the state capital at the weekend.
About 2740 corps members took an oath of allegiance administered by Chief Magistrate A.M Ndakene, who represented the State Chief Judge.
“Our nation needs your energy, ideas, and idealism. As corps members, you are not merely visitors in Kwara; you are partners in our development. Our administration remains committed to youth empowerment, peace, and inclusive prosperity,” the Governor said while declaring the orientation camp open.
“Use these three weeks to acquire skills, develop entrepreneurial ideas, and begin building your independence. Government and development partners are ready to support Corps Members with bankable ideas after service,” the governor said.
Excited by their large turnout during the Independence Day celebration, AbdulRazaq, in appreciation, announced a donation of N50,000 each for the corps members in the state.
This support grant, he explained, is to cushion the impact of current economic realities and motivate them as they begin their service year.
