The Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Asiwaju Asiru Idris, has said that the massive turnout of party faithful in his Oke Meta, Ward 9 of Yagba East Local Government Area, for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election, is a clear endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
The exercise witnessed heavy participation, long queues, and intense political activity as APC members and supporters turned out in large numbers to cast their votes.
Speaking shortly after voting, Asiru said the impressive turnout reflected Nigerians’ confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and the administration’s reform agenda.
According to him, the growing support for the President across the country is evidence that many Nigerians believe the administration is steering the nation toward economic recovery and prosperity.
“Tinubu is the man to take the country to the land of prosperity. If not for his coming in 2023, the country would have been history,” he said.
The commissioner urged Nigerians to continue supporting the current administration, insisting that significant progress has been recorded in several sectors since Tinubu assumed office.
“Let’s not go back to the old. Nigeria has made remarkable progress. In all sectors, President Tinubu has added value. The massive turnout in Oke Meta Ward 9, Yagba East, and reports reaching me from across the country show that Nigerians are happy with Mr. President,” Asiru stated.
He further described the turnout as an outpouring of support for Tinubu and a sign that the APC remained united and strong ahead of the next presidential election.
“This massive turnout is an outpouring of love and an indication that the presidential election is already taken,” he added.
Asiru also called on party members and citizens to remain united in support of the administration’s policies and programmes aimed at economic growth, infrastructure development, and national stability, stressing that continuity would help consolidate the gains of the President’s first term.
The APC presidential primary in Kogi State was reported to have been peaceful, with party stakeholders commending members for their orderly conduct during the exercise.
