The administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has set Nigeria on the path of economic recovery within three years of his administration.
Otuaro made the remarks in a statement marking the president’s third-year anniversary, describing Tinubu as a “courageous and transformative leader” implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda to address Nigeria’s challenges.
He said the administration had recorded notable achievements through bold economic reforms and governance decisions aimed at stabilising the economy and improving citizens’ welfare.
According to him, the president’s policies and programmes have repositioned Nigeria for renewed socio-political progress and shared prosperity.
“President Tinubu has set Nigeria on the path of economic recovery, renewed socio-political advancement and shared prosperity,” he said.
Otuaro also said Tinubu’s diplomatic engagements and international partnerships had improved investor confidence and attracted foreign direct investment into the country.
He added that Nigeria has regained respect in the international community under the current administration.
The PAP boss further noted improvements in the security sector, particularly in the Niger Delta, where he said collaboration between security agencies and private contractors had helped curb pipeline vandalism and oil theft.
He stated that this cooperation had contributed to an increase in crude oil production from about 1.4 million barrels per day in 2023 to approximately 1.8 million barrels per day.
Otuaro also commended Tinubu for his support for the Presidential Amnesty Programme, saying it had strengthened peacebuilding efforts in the region.
According to him, the programme has expanded educational scholarships, vocational training, and other reintegration initiatives for ex-agitators.
He also referenced major infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the South-South Development Commission, the Federal University of Environment and Technology in Ogoniland, and the Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko, as key drivers of regional development.
Otuaro said Tinubu’s recent emergence as the APC presidential candidate for the 2027 elections reflects strong confidence in his leadership and policies.
He called on Niger Delta stakeholders to continue supporting the president, urging them to back his re-election bid in 2027 to consolidate ongoing reforms and development initiatives.
