Industrial Action: United Nigeria Airlines Suspends Flight Operations

United Nigeria Airlines has suspended all flight operations following the ongoing industrial action embarked upon by labour unions against domestic airlines.

The airline announced the temporary suspension in an advisory issued on Tuesday, citing the need to prioritise the safety of its passengers and crew.

United Nigeria Airlines said the decision was taken to avoid compromising safety amid the industrial action.

“We regret to inform our valued passengers that we have temporarily suspended our flight operations due to the ongoing industrial action embarked upon by labour unions against domestic airlines,” the airline said.

The airline added that “this decision was taken to protect the safety of our passengers and crew, which remains our priority at all times.”

“Rather than compromise on safety, we have chosen to pause operations until normalcy is restored,” it stated.

United Nigeria Airlines apologised to passengers affected by the suspension and appealed for their understanding.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and thank you for your understanding,” the statement added.

The airline said it was monitoring the situation and would resume full operations once normalcy was restored.

“We are closely monitoring the situation and will resume full operations once the situation normalizes,” it stated.

It further assured passengers whose flights had been affected that they would be informed of updated flight schedules.

“In the meantime, please reach out to our customer care team for further assistance,” the airline advised.
