Fintiri Appoints Prof. Tukur DG Of Adamawa Renewed Hope 226 Movement

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has appointed Professor Abdullahi Liman Tukur as the Director-General of the Adamawa Renewed Hope 226 Movement (ARH 226 M).

The movement is a political mobilisation platform established to drive support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State and at the national level ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, the movement is aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Fintiri congratulated Tukur on his appointment, describing him as a leader with strong academic credentials, leadership experience and commitment to democratic values.

The governor said Tukur’s experience in governance, scholarship and grassroots mobilisation made him suitable to lead the movement.

He tasked the new Director-General with working closely with APC leaders, stakeholders, youth and women groups to expand the movement’s reach across Adamawa’s 21 local government areas.

Fintiri also called on APC members and supporters across the state to give Tukur and the movement their full support and cooperation ahead of the 2027 elections.

The Adamawa State Government, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Caritas Nigeria, has graduated 530 beneficiaries under the SD3R Project and distributed livelihood start-up kits to support their economic reintegration.

The ceremony, held at the Nyako Centre, State Secretariat Complex, Yola, brought together beneficiaries from Malkohi in Yola South Local Government Area and Shuwa and Gulak in Madagali LGA.

The intervention is aimed at strengthening livelihoods, promoting reintegration and peacebuilding, and improving social cohesion and community resilience in vulnerable communities.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Humanitarian Services, Hon. Bello Hamman Diram, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Pharmacist Amos Enoch Piribu, urged beneficiaries to make productive use of the support provided.

He also encouraged them to promote peaceful coexistence, reconciliation and community ownership of development initiatives.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the state government, UNDP, Caritas Nigeria, local government councils, traditional institutions, security agencies, faith-based organisations, youth and women groups, community-based organisations and other stakeholders.

The beneficiaries were recognised for successfully completing livelihood and reintegration support activities before receiving the start-up kits to enable them to establish or strengthen their businesses and other economic activities.

The state government said the intervention reflects its continued partnership with development organisations to promote sustainable livelihoods and strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities across Adamawa State.
