The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a new arrangement allowing candidates to upload their O’Level results from the comfort of their homes, with the Board undertaking direct verification of the results with the examination bodies that issued them.
JAMB disclosed this in a notice issued on Monday by its Ag. Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, published on his official X handle.
According to the Board, the initiative is part of efforts to make its services more accessible, efficient and convenient for candidates, beginning with the verification of results issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
JAMB said the new system would eliminate the need for candidates to visit Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres solely to upload their O’Level results.
“Candidates can now upload their O’Level results from the comfort of their homes, while the Board undertakes the verification of such results directly with the issuing examination bodies,” the statement said.
The Board explained that the arrangement was designed to use technology to reduce unnecessary visits to CBT centres, queues and manual processes.
JAMB said the new process would also address several challenges associated with manual O’Level result uploads, including: Misplacement or mixing up of paper results, Presentation of unverified or fraudulent results, Errors in the manual entry of subjects and grades, Delays associated with manual verification of results and Challenges faced by candidates during periods of high patronage at CBT centres.
The Board explained that through the integration of its e-Facility platform with examination bodies, candidates’ results could be verified directly against the records of the issuing examination body before being downloaded into their JAMB profiles.
How To Verify O’Level Results
JAMB outlined the following procedure for candidates seeking to verify their results:
- Visit buyresultsverificationcode.ng.
- Enter the candidate’s NIN and click “Verify NIN.”
- Select the desired number of sittings and the appropriate examination body or bodies, then click “Continue.”
- Enter an email address and GSM number and click “Pay Now.”
- Make payment through a debit card or bank transfer.
- After payment, enter the examination details, including:
- Examination number
- Examination series
- Examination year
- Verify the result or results for the selected number of sittings and obtain the Verification Code.
How To Upload Verified Results
After obtaining the Verification Code, candidates are required to:
- Send “VERIFY” followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019.
- The result will be uploaded and the candidate will receive a notification.
- Candidates with two sittings will be notified to visit their profile on e-Facility.
- On the e-Facility dashboard, click “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.”
- Enter the Verification Code, after which the two verified results will be displayed.
- Select the required subjects from the displayed results, ensuring that:
- A minimum of five subjects is selected.
- A maximum of nine subjects is selected.
- No subject is selected more than once.
- Click “Apply The O’Level Results.”
- A notification will be sent to the candidate confirming successful submission.
JAMB said the verification service would provide candidates with a convenient alternative, particularly during periods of high patronage and network challenges at CBT centres.
The Board described the initiative as part of the commitment of JAMB’s sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, to building a more customer-oriented and technology-driven service delivery system.
“The Board will continue to deploy technology and collaborate with relevant examination and government agencies to make its services simpler, safer and more accessible to candidates,” Benjamin said.
The initiative, according to JAMB, marks another step towards reducing manual processes in its operations while improving the ease and speed of services available to candidates.
