Yusuf Congratulates Kano Residents On Takutaha Celebration

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has congratulated residents of the state on the annual Takutaha celebration, held to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Yusuf described Takutaha as an important religious and cultural tradition that had continued to unite the people of Kano and provide an opportunity to reflect on the life and teachings of the Prophet.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, the governor said the celebration remained an integral part of Kano’s rich Islamic heritage, urging Muslims to use the occasion to renew their commitment to the Prophet’s teachings on peace, compassion, tolerance, justice and peaceful coexistence.

He also called on residents to sustain the spirit of unity and brotherhood demonstrated during the celebration, stressing that peace and mutual understanding were essential to the development of the state.

He commended traditional rulers, Islamic scholars, community leaders and organisers of the event for their efforts in preserving Kano’s religious and cultural heritage.

Yusuf assured that his administration would continue to support initiatives aimed at promoting the state’s history, culture and religious values.

He also encouraged younger generations to appreciate and preserve the cultural and religious heritage passed down by their forefathers.

The governor wished the people of Kano a peaceful and successful Takutaha celebration, praying for continued peace, stability and prosperity in the state.
