Abia 2027 Will Be Referendum Of Ideas–Anosike

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2027 governorship candidate in Abia State, Kelechi Anosike, says next yesr’s guber contest would be a referendum of ideas, not personalities or social media hype.

He stated this during an interaction with members of the state council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Umuahia, the state capital yesterday.

He said, “There should be interrogation, it should be about issues and ideas. So, the media should ask every candidate, what exactly he or she will do if elected?

”And how much will it cost? Where will the money come from? Who will implement it? What is the timeline? How will citizens measure success? What happens if you fail?

He noted that the media has a central role to play to ensure the success of the contest and emergence of quality and capable leader.

‎Anosike expressed concern that the council is the only one in the country without a secretariat.

‎To this end, he pledged to complete and commission the council’s abandoned secretariat within his first 100 days in office if elected.

“There should be functional NUJ facilities. So, the man who reports the welfare of the people must not himself be forgotten by government,” he said.

‎Responding, the council chairman, Chidi Asonye commended Anosike, who was accompanied by his deputy governorship candidate, Amah Abraham and others on the visit.

‎Asonye expressed satisfaction with the candidate’s pledge over the long-abandoned project, noting that its condition had been a source of serious concern for the members.

‎While wishing him a successful campaign, he assured him and other candidates of a level playing field to ensure the emergence of the most suitable for the job.
