Xiaomi Launches Redmi Note 17 Series In Nigeria, Introduces 10,000mAh Battery

Xiaomi has launched its Redmi Note 17 Series in Nigeria, introducing four new smartphones with enhanced battery capacity, durability and long-term performance.

The devices were unveiled at a launch event attended by Xiaomi representatives, channel partners, dealers, distributors and technology influencers.

The new lineup comprises the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G, Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 17 Pro and Redmi Note 17.

According to Xiaomi, the series was developed around its “Built for Years” philosophy, with a focus on delivering smartphones capable of withstanding prolonged daily use while maintaining performance.

The company said its Redmi Note Series has now surpassed 500 million shipments globally, reflecting the growth of the product line in international markets.

At the centre of the new lineup is what Xiaomi describes as “Redmi Titan Quality”, a design and engineering approach focused on battery endurance, structural durability and overall device reliability.

The flagship Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G comes with a 10,000mAh battery and 100W HyperCharge technology. Xiaomi said the device can deliver up to three days of use on a single charge and retain at least 80 per cent of its original battery capacity after 1,600 charging cycles, equivalent to about six years of typical use.

Xiaomi Nigeria Country Manager, Vandy, said the company was focused on making advanced smartphone features more accessible to Nigerian consumers while improving the lifespan of its devices.

“With the Redmi Note 17 Series, we are delivering on our core promise: premium innovation made accessible to everyone without sacrificing longevity. By introducing Redmi Titan Quality and up to six years of security updates, we are offering Nigerian consumers a device engineered to perform like new for years to come,” Vandy said.

Also speaking, Chief Executive Officer of Finet, Dr Fred Nnadike, said the company’s distribution network would help expand access to the new devices across Nigeria.

“As Xiaomi’s distribution partner, we are proud to expand the reach of the Redmi Note 17 Series across Nigeria. The exceptional battery endurance and structural toughness directly address the demands of Nigerian smartphone users who require reliability for work and everyday connectivity,” Nnadike said.

The Chief Executive Officer of Raya Distribution, Ahmed Magdy, said Nigerian consumers were increasingly paying attention to durability, battery life and value for money when purchasing smartphones.

“Our retail footprint across Nigeria has allowed us to closely monitor what consumers value most: durability, battery life and price-to-performance value. The Redmi Note 17 Series sets a new standard in the mid-range market, and we are thrilled to bring the devices to customers across Nigeria,” Magdy said.

The launch further strengthens Xiaomi’s presence in Nigeria’s competitive smartphone market, with the company positioning the Redmi Note 17 Series around durability, extended battery life, software support and accessible technology.
