FG’s ₦50,000 Support: Step-by-Step Guide For MoMo PSB Users To Access The Funds

The federal government has provided a USSD option through MoMo Payment Service Bank (PSB) for selected Nigerians to check their eligibility and receive its ₦50,000 National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI).

The intervention, coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, is aimed at providing financial relief to poor and vulnerable households struggling with rising living costs.

MoMo PSB is among the five payment providers approved by the Federal Government to facilitate the disbursement of the support to selected beneficiaries.

According to the government’s NERSI portal, customers can use the MoMo USSD service to check their eligibility and accept the payment without an internet connection.

How To Check Eligibility And Receive FG’s ₦50,000 Through MoMo PSB

Customers can follow these steps to check their eligibility:

1. Dial the USSD code: Open your phone dialler and dial *671*0# using your registered mobile number.

2. Check eligibility: Select the option to check your eligibility for the Federal Government’s NERSI intervention.

3. Follow the instructions: If you have been selected, follow the prompts displayed on your phone.

4. Accept the support: Confirm your consent to receive the ₦50,000 grant.

5. Receive your payment: Once the process is completed, your mobile wallet will be activated and the money credited.

6. Confirm the transaction: You will receive an SMS confirming that the payment has been made.

Who Qualifies For The ₦50,000 Relief Support?

The Federal Government says beneficiaries are selected from verified national identity records and the National Social Register.

The programme targets poor and vulnerable households across the country’s six geopolitical zones.

However, having a MoMo PSB account does not guarantee selection for the intervention.

The government determines eligibility, and there is no public application process through which individuals can independently register for the support.

Payments are also being rolled out in phases, meaning some selected beneficiaries may receive their notifications later than others.

Is The Government Support Free?

The Federal Government says beneficiaries do not need to pay any registration, processing or activation fees to receive the ₦50,000 support.

Customers should also be cautious of individuals claiming they can facilitate payment in exchange for money.

The government has warned that no legitimate representative will request beneficiaries’ PINs, OTPs or BVNs to release the funds.

For further enquiries or complaints, beneficiaries can contact the NERSI helpdesk on 0700-022-2222.
