The family of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Adeshina, popularly known as “Elegbeje Ado,” has announced the final funeral arrangements following his passing earlier this year.
Speaking on behalf of the family, his daughter, Oyinkansola Adesina, stated that a wake and an “Artist Night” will take place on Thursday, August 20, 2026, to honour the late actor’s legacy. The final interment is scheduled for Friday morning, August 21, 2026.
Adeshina, who passed away on June 30, was widely celebrated for his portrayal of traditional priests in Yoruba cinema. His career spanned over two decades and featured in more than 100 films, including Akeke and Oko Abiku, before he retired from acting in 2016 to enter full-time pastoral ministry.
