Aiyedatiwa Appoints 1000 Aides, 3 Advisers, Commissioner

Ondo State governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of 1,000 aides, comprising 90 Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and 910 Special Assistants (SAs), alongside three Special Advisers and a commissioner-designate.

The appointments, according to the state government, are aimed at strengthening governance and enhancing service delivery to the people of Ondo State.

The governor’s chief press secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, announced the appointments in a statement issued on Thursday.

Erelu Taibat Yemi Oloruntoba from Akoko North-West Local Government Area was nominated as Commissioner for Special Duties.

Her nomination has been forwarded to the Ondo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The governor also appointed three Special Advisers to oversee key areas of the administration.

They are Hon. Abimbola Fajolu from Ileoluji-Okeigbo Local Government Area, Special Adviser on Environment; Chief Ade Adeniyi from Ondo West Local Government Area, Special Adviser on Rural and Community Development; and Mr Muyiwa Ogunyemi from Akoko North-East Local Government Area, Special Adviser on Transport.

Among the 90 Senior Special Assistants whose appointments were disclosed are Erelu Toyin Ogungbure, SSA on Women Mobilisation (South); Bidemi Obayangbon, SSA on Forestry; Gboluge Olufunmi Alex, SSA on Community Engagement (South); Hon. Akin Adeniyi, SSA on Community Engagement (Central); and Obayan Theophilus Ayodeji, SSA on Community Engagement (North).

Others include Kelvin Solomon, SSA on Students Affairs; Adeolu Iwakun, SSA on Volunteer Services; Samson Job Bazuaye, SSA on Oil and Gas; Fade Ojamomi, SSA on Youth Empowerment and Job Creation; and Sam Adepoju, SSA on Public Engagement.

Alhaji Samad Orijeminiyi was appointed SSA on Scholarship, while Mr Victor Omodara was named SSA on Grassroots Mobilisation and Abayomi Adefolalu as SSA on Photography.

The governor also appointed Alhaji Abdukadiri Adenoyi, Prince Nzuoma Egbulefu and Alhaji Garba Goni as SSAs on Non-Indigenes.

The government said the appointments were part of efforts to strengthen its governance structure and improve engagement with communities and various sectors across the state.

While the names of some of the SSAs were released, the full list of the 90 Senior Special Assistants and 910 Special Assistants is expected to be made public later.

The appointments take immediate effect, except for the commissioner-designate, whose appointment is subject to screening and confirmation by the State House of Assembly.
